About

It all started when…

Aide Grossesse Quebec had its beginning in Chateauguay on January 18, 2018 with a meeting that brought together several Christian leaders, including pastors and those already serving in Christian pregnancy care, who felt strongly that there was a lack of unexpected pregnancy support services in Quebec.

On October 11, 2018, an open meeting was held in Montreal, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Several people indicated ways they would like to get involved, including interest from a group of people in Saint-Hyacinthe who desired to open an Aide Grossesse Quebec centre in their city.

Traditionally, pregnancy centres had been developed as independent organizations, with each centre having the significant task of developing its unique administrative and client care tools. As a group of founding leaders, we considered how we could respond to the significant gap in resources and support for families experiencing unexpected pregnancy and reproductive loss all across Quebec. The decision was made to deviate from tradition and construct Aide Grossesse Quebec to be a network of centres, supported by an executive team, who will facilitate the expansion of programs and services throughout the province in order to meet this need.

Aide Grossesse Quebec has and will continue to develop and maintain relationships with local church congregations and other Christian ministries, as well as other community agencies throughout Quebec. Aide Grossesse Quebec aims to provide a needed service and resource to communities across the province of Quebec, which will be complementary to the other services and resources that are already available.
